My fishing article 'Livin' Wild, Fishin' Free', published in the Summer 2025 edition of The Flyfishers' Journal, has come runner-up in the annual Peter Lapsley literary award.
The award is made in honour of the journal's legendary editor Peter Lapsley (himself a respected author - and ghost-writer of famous book Fly Fishing by J.R. Hartley). It is made to acknowledge the best article published in The Flyfishers' Journal each year.
Being published in the Flyfishers' Journal is honour in itself, but being acknowledged as 'very close runner up' is honour indeed.
This year's award was won by Don Staziker for his article entitled 'A Cabinet of Curiosities' that described the contents of a historic case of fly tying materials.
